CNN —The trial of Andrew Tate, a self-proclaimed “misogynist” online influencer accused of human trafficking and rape, can go ahead, a Romanian court said Friday. Tate was indicted in June along with his brother Tristan and two Romanian citizens on charges of human trafficking, rape and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women – allegations they have denied. The court in Bucharest, Romania’s capital, has not yet confirmed a trial date and the Tate brothers have already appealed the ruling, said Mateea Petrescu, a spokeswoman for the brothers. Romanian prosecutors alleged the Tate brothers seduced victims by falsely claiming they wanted a relationship or marriage with them. The Tate brothers, both former professional kickboxers, were first arrested in December 2022 and kept in police custody until April 2023, before being placed under house arrest.

BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) — Online influencer Andrew Tate was detained in Romania and handed an arrest warrant issued by British authorities, his spokesperson said Tuesday. U.S. and British legal representatives of alleged victims held a press conference in Bucharest on Thursday. In Britain, four women are planning a civil lawsuit against Tate alleging he raped them between 2013 and 2016. Tate, a self-described misogynist, has gained millions of fans by promoting an ultra-masculine lifestyle that critics say denigrates women.

NYU professor Scott Galloway said he's been locked out of his 564,000 follower X account for 17 days. Galloway said a mutual friend told him Elon Musk felt "unfairly attacked" and wanted to meet him. Scott Galloway, a marketing professor at NYU who's also known as an author and public speaker, said he was locked out of his X account after a quarrel with Elon Musk. "A mutual friend reached out and said Elon feels 'unfairly attacked,' by me, and wants to meet," Galloway posted on Threads. He said that two days later he could no longer access his X account, which has over half-a-million followers.
